EDITORIAL FLAWED

Since your publisher sits on the Oversight Committee of "Shaping Our Future," it is not a surprise that your position is cheerleading that organization. Your characterization of principled opposition as "head-in-the-sand" and "myopic" is not appropriate. If loss of local control is a "myth," then why are there so many repetitions of "cities will," "cities shall," and "cities agree to," in the documents? If a "myth," why do you quote a researcher (in your SOF article of Nov. 2 saying "absent a binding mechanism or institute of enforcement, there's nothing to stop individual cities ... "?
